Sadly we didn't make it all the way up to Inspiration Point bc we got confused and didn't realize how much further up it is from this particular trail...and it's not mentioned in AllTrails info - it's listed as a separate hike! Recreation enthusiasts are greeted with a variety of loop trails with spectacular views of Lake Chelan, the Enchantments, Pyramid Peak, and Okanogan Highlands. Good for lunch, looking out, and exploring. The (Lower) Echo Mountain via Sam Merrill Trail is a 5.5 mile out and back trail. This immensely popular trail is a must hike. While the trail was heavily trafficked, most people were considerate and wore masks when passing. There are also lots of information plaques telling of the interesting history. Parking is along the street and don't have a lot of spots. Google Mt Lowe trail for photos. The trail winds up through the forest and dense brush before reaching the alpine tundra.
